Ingredients
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (large can)
- 1/2 - onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/2 - bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons bacon fat
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
How To Make rice & tomato soup

Step 1Simmer tomatoes, seasonings, and water 1/2 an hour; discard bay leaf and press through a sieve.

Step 2In the small pan add baking soda, bacon fat and cook with the flour until brown; add to the soup, stir until smooth. Add rice and serve.
