Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 teaspoons instant chicken bouillon
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme leaves, dried
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups potatoes, cooked and cubed
  • 1 cup cooked cubed ham
  • 1 package frozen mixed vegetables, thawed

How To Make potato vegetable chowder

  • Step 1
    Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat.
  • Step 2
    Stir in onion; cook until tender.
  • Step 3
    Stir in flour, bouillon, thyme and pepper.
  • Step 4
    Cook until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
  • Step 5
    Gradually stir in milk and water; cook over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly.
  • Step 6
    Add potatoes, ham and vegetables.
  • Step 7
    Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
