I love soups and stews and just use whatever I have in the fridge or freezer. There are no exact amounts. If you like lots of a certain ingredient, the use more - by all means. I make an large pot and freeze in small quantities in zip lock bags for a fast meal with a salad and bread.

Ingredients

  • - carrots, whole
  • - onions, roughly chopped
  • - celery, whole
  • - ham bone
  • 1 package split green peas (large pkg)
  • 1 package frozen corn
  • 1 package simply potatoes mashed potatoes

How To Make pea soup

  • Step 1
    Put carrots, onions, celery, ham bone and peas in a large pot and cover with water.
  • Step 2
    Cook at a low boil for approx 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 3
    Take celery out. Take ham bone out and take meat off. Mash the carrots roughly in the pot. Put the meat back in.
  • Step 4
    Put in the corn and mashed potatoes and cook for about 30 min. Use the masher again to make sure the potatoes incorporate.
