mom's asparagus soup
Mom and I make this in the fall...It is so good..with a grilled open face cheese and onion sandwich....we have been making it for years...It has a wonderful flavor...If you like Asparagus you will like this.....

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cups asparagus, cut up
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon mace, ground
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons flour
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup milk

Step 1Bring to boil and cook for 15 to 20 minutes on low or medium heat...Put into blender and cream...

Step 2Melt 2 tbsp butter, add 2 tbsp of flour, salt and pepper to taste. Mix in 1 Cup of milk and stir constantly until thickened. Add to Asparagus mixture...Heat and Enjoy......
