Ingredients

  • 1 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 lb
    fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 4 c
    beef broth, canned
  • 1 pinch
    nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • pinch
    black pepper

How to Make MeMaw's Cream of Mushroom Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook onion in butter until brown. Add mushrooms. Stir until done. Add flour and coat mushrooms. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add beef broth. Cook 10 min. DO NOT BOIL. Add cream and spices. Stir and serve.
