i just made up this recipe , recently. Been wanting to make this up for a while . first I went out and bought these cute little soup bowls , they have to be oven safe . Then I started playing in the kitchen and this is what I came up with . the reason why I love it so much is because it is full of flavor !! . I think it's really delicious !!!! hope you will too !!!!!

Ingredients

  • 1 - stick of butter
  • 4 - big onions cut up
  • 2 boxes of swanson beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons of beef base
  • 1 pound of sliced monerey jack cheese
  • 2 cups of merlot red wine
  • 1 or 2 - loaf of bread good italian bread cut up in rounds

How To Make letizia's yummy french onion soup

  • Step 1
    in big pot , put one stick of butter to melt , cut up onions in 4ths
  • Step 2
    Saute' onions on medium heat , until a little brown .
  • Step 3
    lower heat and cook for half hour or more , until they are completely caramelized .
  • Step 4
    don't cover the pot. now add beef broth , add beef base when broth gets hot , it will melt faster .
  • Step 5
    now add red wine . cook on low for 1 hour or more .
  • Step 6
    When flavor is good , the soup is done .
  • Step 7
    put couple of slices of cheese on bottom of soup dish. Make sure soup dish is oven safe .
  • Step 8
    now with soup ladle , pour some of the soup in dish , on top of the cheese.
  • Step 9
    now add rounds of bread in dish . make sure the bread round fits in the dish .
  • Step 10
    now it's time to put more cheese on top of bread
  • Step 11
    put individual soup dishes in the oven , on broil , until cheese melts , about 2 minutes . enjoy !! delicious !!!!
