I have made this for years, And keep changing it. No one has told me it has no flavor. Sometimes if I have it I add ham cubes. Then not add as much salt.

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds of potatoes
  • 4 stalks stalks of celery
  • 1 large onion
  • 1-2 package instant potatoes (betty crocker butter herb)
  • 6 slices strips of bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cups milk, whole
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 package sherreded carrots
  • 1 package diced ham

How To Make homemade potato soup.

  • Step 1
    Peel and cube the potatoes Put the pot on to boil. Use a stock pot.
  • Step 2
    In frying pan sautee onions, celery,carrots and bacon and diced ham. Add this mixture to the boiling potatoes.
  • Step 3
    Mash the potatoes in same pot as cooked in. Leaving some chuncks.
  • Step 4
    Add butter and milk. salt and pepper. Then stir in Instant potatoes to thicken.
