I have made this for years, And keep changing it. No one has told me it has no flavor. Sometimes if I have it I add ham cubes. Then not add as much salt.

Ingredients

5 lb
of potatoes
4 stalk(s)
stalks of celery
1 large
onion
1-2 pkg
instant potatoes (betty crocker butter herb)
6 slice
strips of bacon
2 Tbsp
butter
3 c
milk, whole
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 pkg
sherreded carrots
1 pkg
diced ham

Step-By-Step

1Peel and cube the potatoes Put the pot on to boil. Use a stock pot.
2In frying pan sautee onions, celery,carrots and bacon and diced ham. Add this mixture to the boiling potatoes.
3Mash the potatoes in same pot as cooked in. Leaving some chuncks.
4Add butter and milk. salt and pepper. Then stir in Instant potatoes to thicken.
