Ingredients
- 5 quarts water
- 2 large onions, peeled and quartered
- 4 - garlic cloves, peeled
- 4 - celery stalks, sliced
- 2 large potatoes, scrubbed and coarsely chopped
- 2 - leeks, white part only
- - parsley sprigs
- 2 - bay leaves
- 10 - peppercorns
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 large carrots, thickly sliced
How To Make hearty vegetable broth

Step 1Place all of the ingredients in a large soup pot; bring to a boil, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer over low heat for 3 to 4 hours.

Step 2Strain the broth and discard the vegetables.

Step 3Freeze in 1- to 2-cup containers for use in recipes calling for vegetable stock or broth.
