Got this recipe from my daughter and it's as good as or better than restaurant French Onion Soup.

  • 3 large
    sliced onion
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1/4-1/2 c
    red wine
  • 4 can(s)
    beef broth (soup)
  • 2-1/2 can(s)
  • 3-4
    beef bouillon, cubes
  • ·
    toasted french bread
  • ·
    mozarella cheese or your choice
  • ·
    parmesan cheese

How to Make French Onion Soup


  1. Slice onion and put in large pot.
  2. Spray with butter or add 2 tbsp butter. Saute until onions are soft
  3. Stir in sugar and flour and mix well.
  4. Add 4 cans beef soup, 2-1/2 cans of water and bouillon cubes.
  5. Simmer for 40 minutes.
  6. Put soup in oven safe bowls, top with toasted bread and cheeses. Broil until cheese is melted and slightly browned.
  7. Serve with a salad and more bread if desired.
