Ingredients
- 5 cups onions, sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 quarts beef stock, boiling
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 package croutons
- - grated parmesan cheese
How To Make french onion soup 2, mom

Step 1Cook onions with butter and oil over low heat in covered 4 quart saucepan for 15 min. Uncover, stir in salt and sugar. Cook 35 min on moderate heat, stirring frequently. Sprinkle with flour, cook 3 min. Remove from heat and blend in beef stock, wine and seasonings. Simmer, partly covered for 35 min. Serve with croutons and chees. Add salt and pepper to taste.
