- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef or turke
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, with liquid
- 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes, with liquid

- 1 can (14 ounces) beef broth
- 1 package (16 ounces) frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cup uncooked macaroni
How To Make family style vegetable soup

Step 1Place the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Crumble in the ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon. Add the salt and pepper. Cook, stirring, until the beef browns all over, about 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the 2 cans of tomatoes with the liquid. Fill both cans with water and add this to the pan. Add the beef broth, frozen vegetables and bay leaf. Stir and bring the mixture to a boil for 3 to 4 minutes, then reduce the heat to medium low, cover the pot, and simmer about 20 minutes.

Step 2Stir in the pasta and cover the pot. Let the soup simmer about 10 minutes. You can let the soup simmer for up to 1 hour.
