    onion, minced
  • 6 oz
    butter
  • 6 oz
    flour
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    pepper
  • 2 qt
    milk
  • 1 lb
    frozen, chopped spinach
  • 2 Tbsp
    chicken base
  • 1 pinch
    nutmeg
  • 2 qt
    heavy cream

How to Make Cream of Spinach Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. Saute the onion in butter until tender, and add flour. Cook about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the milk, white pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the spinach and cook.
  4. Add the nutmeg and chicken base.
  5. Add the heavy cream to final product.
