Corn Chowder

This is another recipe from my sister-in-law Marie, and we have been making it for years. It is so easy and just delicious! The bacon fat gives it a great flavor.

  • 2 Tbsp
    bacon fat
  • 2 large
    potatos, diced
  • 2 can(s)
    cream style corn
  • 2 c
    whole milk
  • 1 can(s)
    evaporated milk-or enough to equal 2 cups
  • 1 tsp
  • 4 dash(es)
  • 3 Tbsp
    parsley flakes
  • 1
    medium onion--chopped

How to Make Corn Chowder


  1. saute onion in bacon fat for 3-5 minutes
  2. add to this, 2 cups of whole milk, 2 cups of evaporated milk, 2 cans of creamed corn, salt, pepper and parsley flakes. I use 1 can of evaporated milk which is almost 2 cups, and I pour whole milk to make it two cups.
  3. cook potatos separately for about 10 minutes
  4. drain and add to chowder
  5. simmer til ready to eat
