broccoli cheese soup
This is my grandmas recipe. She makes this every year for lunch on Christmas along with her barley soup, which I haven't gotten the recipe for, yet:). It's not thick. Thin and creamy! Soooo good! My favorite soup.

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup onion
- 3/4 cup celery
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons accent
- 2 teaspoons white pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 pound american cheese, shredded

How To Make broccoli cheese soup
-
Step 1Bring 6 cups of water to a boil. While that is working, finely dice broccoli, onion and celery. I use my food processor and mince. When water starts to boil, add your veggies and boil for 10 minutes.
-
Step 2Then add seasonings and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.
-
Step 3Add half and half and butter. Bring to a boil. For thickening, whisk 1/2 cup flour with 1/2 cup water. Slowly pour into soup, whisking as you pour. I always add this.
-
Step 4Enjoy!!
