Ingredients

  • 2 cans black eyed peas, undrained
  • 2 cans rotel tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 pound hamburger meat, browned and drained
  • 1 package frozen seasoned mix (picsweet)
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 16 ounces frozen vegetable gumbo mix
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons louisiana hot sauce
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make black eyed pea gumbo

  • Step 1
    Saute the picsweet mix in margarine until tender. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and hot sauce.
  • Step 2
    Stir in browned hamburger meat.
  • Step 3
    Add chicken broth and tomatoes.
  • Step 4
    Add gumbo mix and stir until all is mixted well.
  • Step 5
    Add rotel tomatoes and black eyed peas. Stir well and cook until bubbling. Serve over hot cooked rice.
