hamburger meat, browned and drained
1 pkg
frozen seasoned mix (picsweet)
3 Tbsp
16 oz
frozen vegetable gumbo mix
1 clove
garlic, minced
2 tsp
louisiana hot sauce
1 can(s)
chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Black Eyed Pea Gumbo


  • 1Saute the picsweet mix in margarine until tender. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and hot sauce.
  • 2Stir in browned hamburger meat.
  • 3Add chicken broth and tomatoes.
  • 4Add gumbo mix and stir until all is mixted well.
  • 5Add rotel tomatoes and black eyed peas. Stir well and cook until bubbling. Serve over hot cooked rice.
