belgian beer soup, barb
This one of Barb's seems perfect for my hubby, who loves beer, scotch, wine...LOL. Stella is my beer of choice, but you could use whatever you choose. Also, I omit the celery since I don't like it. You can add more carrot or onion if you want.

Ingredients
- 1 cup coarsely chopped carrots
- 1 cup sliced celery (i omit)
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 11 1/4 oz cans split pea with ham soup
- 12 ounces stella artois (can use other beer, but this is belgian)

Step 1Saute veggies in large pan in butter, about 10 min. Add remaining. Mix well. Simmer until beer stops foaming. Serve hot.
