This recipe was handed down to me by my father. His father used to make it for him when he was a boy. You could subsitute the meat for pork, chicken or even vension. Goes good with fresh baked bread or rolls.

Ingredients
- 1-1 1/2 pounds fresh aspargus
- 1 pound ground chuck
- 1 - medium onion chopped
- 1 can beef broth, reduced sodium
- 1 - large bay leaf
- 1 can water
- 1-16oz. can stewed tomatoes
- 1-12oz. can tomato juice
- 2 tablespoons beef boullion
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme, dried
- 1/2 teaspoon marjoram, dried
- - slat and peper to taste
How To Make asparagus soup

Step 1Brown meat and onion in skillet. Drain any grease.

Step 2In a cooking pot add all ingredients except for the asparagus and cook for 1/2 hour on medium to low heat (do not boil)

Step 3Wash and cut up the asparagus into bite size pieces.

Step 4After 1/2 hour is up add the aparagus to the pot and continue to cook for another 1/2 hour or until vegetable is done.
