Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 5 cups turkey or chicken broth
  • 2 - potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup apple juice, unsweetened
  • 3 cups turkey, cooked and chopped

How To Make turkey chowder

  • Step 1
    Saute the onion and celery in the margarine.
  • Step 2
    Add the flour, salt, pepper and thyme.
  • Step 3
    Gradually add the broth.
  • Step 4
    Add the potatoes and carrots.
  • Step 5
    Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Step 6
    Add the zucchini, apple juice, and turkey.
  • Step 7
    Continue cooking over low heat for 10 minutes.
