Ingredients

  • 4 cans green chiles, diced, 7 ounces each
  • 1 pound turkey, ground
  • 1 small zucchini, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup corn kernels, frozen
  • 14 ounces canned peeled tomatoes with juice
  • 24 ounces water
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make successful green chile stew

  • Step 1
    Brown the ground turkey.
  • Step 2
    Just before it is done, add the garlic and saute it with the meat.
  • Step 3
    Then put this into a large saucepan or dutch oven.
  • Step 4
    Turn on heat to medium high and add tomatoes and juice.
  • Step 5
    Use a spatula to cut up the tomatoes in the pan.
  • Step 6
    Add the rest of the vegetables, chiles, water and the seasoning.
  • Step 7
    Bring to a boil, then turn heat down and cook until zucchini becomes soft.
  • Step 8
    Spoon into bowls and serve.
