How To Make brunswick stew
-
Step 1In a Dutch oven over medium heat, add butter and oil. When hot, add mirepoix (onion, celery, and carrots). Season with salt. Sauté for 3 minutes.
-
Step 2Add garlic, hot sauce, Creole seasoning, thyme, and black pepper; sauté for 1 minute.
-
Step 3Stir in tomato paste to coat. Add diced tomatoes, potatoes, and broth. Mix well. Add bay leaf and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes.
-
Step 4Add corn, beans, and cooked turkey. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 10 minutes, making sure the potatoes are submerged.
-
Step 5Add Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce. Stir well and cook for 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
-
Step 6If desired, add brown sugar and stir well. If stew still has too much liquid, let it cook for another 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
