Ingredients

1 lb
italian sausage, mild
2 large
russet baking potatoes
1 large
onion, chopped
1/4 c
bacon bits
2
garlic cloves, minced
2 c
fresh kale, chopped
2 can(s)
chicken broth
1 qt
water
1 c
heavy whipping cream

How to Make Zuppa Toscana

Step-by-Step

  • 1Chop or slice uncooked sausage into small pieces
    Brown sausage in your soup pot
    Add chicken broth and water to pot and stir
  • 2Place onions, potatoes (slice in half,and then in 1/4 inch slices
    Cook on medium heat until potatoes are done
  • 3Add sausage and bacon
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Simmer for another 10 minutes
  • 4Turn to low heat
    Add kale and cream
    Heat through and serve
