This recipe is the BEST Basil Tomato soup I have ever mastered. I LOVE the richness of this dreamy soup. Great for a chilly fall night!

Ingredients
- 1 14.5 ounces can of crushed tomatoes
- 1 14.5 ounces can of diced tomatoes
- 1 14.5 ounces can of chicken broth
- 20 - fresh basil leaves (thinly sliced)
- 1 11.5 ounces can of v8
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup butter
How To Make tomato and basil soup

Step 1In large Saucepan, combine tomatoes, V-8 & chicken broth. Bring to boil and cook 30 minutes on medium heat

Step 2Stir in Basil slices (or puree if you want). Add Cream and Butter.

Step 3Return to heat, stir until butter melts. S&P to taste Serve immediately.

Step 4Can Also do the following add ins: Saute chopped onion with minced garlic and dab of brown sugar in EVOO or Butter for richer flavor.

Step 5Can also add in the following spices; Oregano, Italian mix dry herbs, Garlic Salt & Garlic Powder.
