spanish franks
My Mom learned about this recipe from her Uncle who was in the Navy many years ago in the Philippians. They made this then because it was cheap and good. We have treasured this nice, warm soup for generations. Hope anyone who makes it loves it as much as we have.

- 1 - onion
- 2 packages hot dogs
- 5 pounds potatoes
- 1 1/2 cans tomato soup
- 1 stick margarine
- - chili powder
How To Make spanish franks
-
Step 1Dice hot dogs, onion, and potatoes. I buy 5lb potatoes and dice up as many as you like. We love potatoes so I cut up at least 3/4 of the bag.
-
Step 2In a pot, fill with water to boil diced potatoes. Put potatoes and diced onion in water and boil for about 10-15 minutes. Don't overcook potatoes because you will be cooking them more when hot dogs are added. But make sure there not real hard because you might have to cook them a little longer.
-
Step 3Put in diced hot dogs. Add your tomato soup. ( I get the 23 ounce can and another small can) 1 whole stick of butter, and chili powder for seasoning all at the same time when you add your hot dogs. Cook another 10-15 minutes to cook the hot dogs. We like it seasoned well so just add the chili powder to your liking.
-
Step 4Make sure your potatoes are well cooked and when done, I let mine set for about 1/2 hour covered to enjoy flavor. Enjoy!!
