- 3 pounds potatoes
- 1 small onion
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups whole milk (divided)
- - grated cheddar cheese (optiona)
- - bacon bits (optional)
How To Make grandma's potato soup

Step 1Peel and cube potatoes. Place in pot. Cover with only enough water to cover potatoes. Boil potatoes and onion together until almost done.

Step 2In a separate sauce pan melt butter. Add flour. Stir till smooth. Add milk. Stir till begins to thicken.

Step 3Pour butter mixture into potatoes. Stir. Add enough milk to desired consistency. Add cheese and bacon bits if desired.
