Here is another recipe that can be made while you're at the track or camping or anywhere that you have limited resources.
I try to have all my ingredients measured and put into small Rubbermaid/Tupperware containers and organized in storage containers with all the other ingredients for a specific meal.

On a side note: I like clams so I also make this using canned baby clams as an additional ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    cooked crab meat
  • 1 lb
    cooked shrimp
  • 1 medium
    onion
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 4 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 can(s)
    crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 can(s)
    diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 can(s)
    diced green chiles (4 oz)
  • 2 clove
    crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp
    grains of paradise
  • 2 can(s)
    fish stock

How to Make Crab & shrimp gumbo

Step-by-Step

  1. Chop the onion into medium sized pieces and saute in the butter for 10 min.
  2. Stir in the flour and continue to saute until you see a slight browning of the sauce.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for an hour to blend flavors.
