Here is another recipe that can be made while you're at the track or camping or anywhere that you have limited resources. I try to have all my ingredients measured and put into small Rubbermaid/Tupperware containers and organized in storage containers with all the other ingredients for a specific meal. On a side note: I like clams so I also make this using canned baby clams as an additional ingredient.

prep time 15 Min

Ingredients

  • 1 pound cooked crab meat
  • 1 pound cooked shrimp
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cans crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 can diced green chiles (4 oz)
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon grains of paradise
  • 2 cans fish stock

How To Make crab & shrimp gumbo

  • Step 1
Chop the onion into medium sized pieces and saute in the butter for 10 min.
  • Step 2
Stir in the flour and continue to saute until you see a slight browning of the sauce.
  • Step 3
Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for an hour to blend flavors.
