This is one of our favorite potato soups.

I got it from a cookbook called Mystic Mountain Memories by Josie and Jerry Minerich.

Ingredients

2 medium
red potatoes
3 to 4 c
milk
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup
1/2 lb
cheddar cheese , diced
1/2 tsp
garlic salt
1/2 tsp
seasoning salt
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
pepper
2 tsp
parsley flakes
dash(es)
nutmeg

How to Make Souper Gomer's

Step-by-Step

  • 1Scrub or peel potatoes. ( I usually peel mine.)
    Cut into pieces and boil only until potatoes are tender.
  • 2Drain and mash slightly with fork, leaving chunky.
  • 3In the same pan, add milk, soup and seasonings, stirring until heated thoroughly. Do not boil.
  • 4Stir in cheese until melted. Taste it and add more cheese or seasoning if desired.
