Made this last night. It really hits the spot on a cold winter evening. It was a hit! We had a cold one for Florida (50's)..LOL

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pounds potatoes
- - water
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 large yellow onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package instant potatoes
- 1/2 cup cooking sherry
- - grated cheddar cheese
How To Make potato soup

Step 1Peel and dice potato (1 inch pieces)

Step 2Rinse till water comes clear.

Step 3Place in a large pot and just cover with water.

Step 4Add diced onion and minced garlic, salt and pepper

Step 5Bring to a boil and reduce to a fast simmer

Step 6Cook until potatoes are tender

Step 7Add cream and instant potatoes and combine, add sherry and simmer till everything has heated through

Step 8Note: If the soup is to thick add milk Can add a handful of cheddar cheese to each bowl (it makes a great addition)
