Ingredients
- 5 pounds russet baking potatoes, cut into small cubes (about 1/2 inch size)
- 1 - thick slice of cooked ham, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup half and half
- 1/2 cup sour cream
How To Make potato and ham soup
-
Step 1Put the diced potatoes into a large soup pot and add just enough water to cover the potatoes. *Too much water will make the soup too thin*
-
Step 2Cover and bring to a boil, then uncover and cook over med-high for about 20 min.
-
Step 3Reduce the heat and add the ham and butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Step 4Over low heat, add the half and half and sour cream. Heat through and enjoy!
