Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 2 slice
    bacon
  • 2 medium
    onions chopped
  • 2 stalk(s)
    celery diced
  • 6 small
    potatoes sliced
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 pt
    milk
  • 1 pt
    cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 pt
    oysters
  • ·
    boiling water

How to Make Oyster Chowder

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook bacon in a pot. Remove bacon and crumble
  2. Add onions, celery, potatoes and seasonings to bacon fat. Cover with boiling water. Cook until almost tender.
  3. Add milk and cream. Bring to a boil.
  4. In a cup blend butter and flour. Add to chowder.
  5. Add oysters and cook until oysters begin to curl
  6. Garnish with crumbled bacon
