glottucks (corn and kelp chowder)

From Wikibooks. I used this flat dried seaweed stuff you can buy at Costco.

Ingredients For glottucks (corn and kelp chowder)

  • 1 qt
    fresh corn kernals
  • 1/2 c
    dried sea kelp
  • 2 c
    milk or cream
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1
    bell pepper, red or green, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make glottucks (corn and kelp chowder)

  • 1
    Saute kelp in butter until it begins to melt. Add remaining ingredients and heat on low, covered, for 30-40 minutes, until soft.

    Remove cover and cook on low until thickened to the right consistency.
