This is a recipe given to me by my landlady and is a signature dish of hers. Very well tested and approved.

  • 1 1/2 lb
    chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 medium
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 31 oz
    great northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can(s)
    chicken broth
  • 7 oz
    green chilies
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp
    white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1/2 c
    whipping cream

  • 1/2 c
    mexican blend shredded cheese
  • 1/2 c
    bacon, crumbles
  • 1/2 c
    chives, chopped

How to Make Marian's White Chili


  1. In large saucepan, saute chicken, onion and garlic.
  2. Add beans, broth, chilies & spices.
  3. Bring to boil, simmer un-covered for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in sour cream and whip cream. Serve with toppings of choice.
