Add to Grocery List

  • 1 lb
  • 1 pkg
    bacon, cooked
  • 2 can(s)
    baked beans
  • 2 can(s)
    kidney beans, canned
  • 1 can(s)
    black-eyed peas
  • 1 can(s)
    chick peas
  • 1 bottle
    barbecue sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow mustard
  • 1-4 c
    brown sugar

How to Make Grandma's Crockpot Beans

  1. put baked beans into crockpot
  2. drain the kidney, black beans and chick peas, add to crockpot
  3. add whole bottle barbecue sauce (i prefer honey bbq sauce)
  4. add mustard, stir
  5. brown hamburger, drain and add to crockpot
  6. cut bacon into chucks, cook and use a spatula to transfer to crockpot, a little grease adds to the flavor
  7. add 1 to 2 cups brown sugar, after it cooks a bit you can add more for a sweeter taste.
  8. Note: I cook this on low for 3-4 hours, if you leave the crockpot on high it can burn your beans
