This was my mom's recipe. Not sure where she got it. When my sister and i were growing up we hated the beans in the chili. So unknown to us my mom would put the beans in the blender and them add them to the chili. Neither one of us knew this until we were both grown.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground beef or ground turkey
  • 6 medium onions, yellow, medium
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 cans large tomato sauce
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 8 tablespoons chili powder, medium to hot
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons oregano, dried
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cans red kidney beans
  • 3 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 8 - dried red peppers
  • 4 cans water, soup can

How To Make chili

  • Step 1
    Put kidney beans in blender and mix until smooth
  • Step 2
    Mix all ingredients together. Stir in the beginning to break up ground beef
  • Step 3
    Cook in slow cooker 6 hours
  • Step 4
    At the end you can add cooked spaghetti or macaroni if you choose. You can also add the pasta uncooked but this makes it very thick and you might need to add more water.
  • Step 5
    When reheating it I use V8 juice to thin it down to desired consistency.
  • Step 6
    You can reduce the amount of chili powder and red peppers to taste.
