When you get home from work late and just want a down home cooked dinner and don't have the time, this recipe is super quick and easy. It's not as good as taking your time and making everything from scratch, but in a pinch,it's tasty.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 cup cut-up, cooked chicken
  • 10 3/4 ounces condensed cream of chicken and mushroom soup
  • 1 cup baking mix (like bisquick)
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • - paprika (if desired)

How To Make mom's quick and easy chicken and dumplings

  • Step 1
    Heat 1 1/2 cups milk, the peas and carrots, chicken and soup to boiling in 3-quart saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Stir Bisquick and 1/3 cup milk until soft dough forms. Drop dough by 8 spoonfuls onto chicken mixture; reduce heat to low.
  • Step 3
    Cook uncovered 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer. Sprinkle with paprika.
  • Step 4
    Makes 4 servings.
