Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 - 3 pounds bone-in chicken pieces
  • 2 - celery stalks, with leaves, cut into chunks
  • 2 - medium carrots, cut into chunks
  • 2 - medium onions, cut into chunks
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 2 - chicken bouillon packets
  • 1 teaspoon chicken seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
  • 2 quarts cold water

How To Make chicken broth

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients in a large pot. Slowly bring to a boil, reduce heat, and skim off any foam.
  • Step 2
    Cover and simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  • Step 3
    Remove chicken and set aside.
  • Step 4
    Strain broth, discard vegetables and seasonings, strain again. Refrigerate to allow fat to rise and harden. Skim fat from surface before using.
  • Step 5
    Remove meat from bones and save for another use, if desired.
