    chicken stock
  • 1 pkg
    knorr's homestyle chicken bouillion
  • 1/3 c
    fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 c
    white wine
  • 2 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1
    leek sliced
  • 1
    carrot chopped
  • 1 small
    onion chopped
  • 1/4 c
    butter melted
  • 1/4 c
  • 7
    egg yolks
  • 2 c
    cooked chicken cubed
  • 1 c
    cooked rice

How to Make Avegolemono (Greek lemon chicken soup)


  1. In large pot combine first 8 ingredients. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer and simmer on low heat 30 minutes.
  2. Whisk together the flour and butter and add to broth. Simmer another 10 minutes
  3. Whisk egg yolks until pale. Add a little soup and whisk until incorporated. Stir into pot.
  4. Add chicken and rice and heat through
