Also known as YaKa Mein. A Chinese African dish known for its healing properties for a hangover. Served mostly in New Orleans by a lot of street vendors and Chinese restaurants. I don't need a hangover to eat this soup it's delicious

3 to 4 lb
beef roast your choice
4-6 qt
2 Tbsp
beef base like better than boullion
1 tsp
seasoned salt
2 tsp
old bay seasoning
1 tsp
onion powder
2 Tbsp
canola oil
1 lb
spaghetti cooked in salted water and drained
8 large
eggs hard boiled and sliced
1/2 c
fresh parsley
soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, ketchup

How to Make Old Sober


  • 1Fill a stockpot with water and add the beef bouillon, salt, old bay, onion powder and canola oil. Add the roast and make sure the water totally covers the roast. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer and simmer 2 to 3 hours until meat falls apart. Adding more liquid if needed.
  • 2Remove beef from broth and shred it then add back to broth.
  • 3To assemble the soup place spaghetti in bowl ladle soup over top. top with eggs and parsley. Add extra ingredients according to taste
