Another of Mom's recipes. She used a pressure cooker and beef bouillon with 6-8 cups of water. I have reduced the salt by substituting the low sodium beef broth. It's a good Fall/Winter recipe for those cooler days and nights. Enjoy

prep time 30 Min
cook time 1 Hr
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 11/2 pounds hamburger or ground turkey
  • 1 box low sodium beef stock
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 can italian diced tomatoes with oregano and garlic
  • 1 bag frozen mixed vegatables
  • 1 cup little soup pasta like orzo

How To Make crock pot hamburger soup

  • Step 1
Brown your hamburger or turkey on the stove. Add onion till soft and clear. Drain any fat.
  • Step 2
In crock pot, place meat with onions, diced tomatoes, pasta and Beef Broth. Put on 2 hours or if home check after 1 hour. Put frozen vegetables in the last 1/2 hour so do not turn to soft. Check that pasta is cooked and it's ready to eat.
  • Step 3
Note: you can also add a little Cajun Seasoning to this Soup to give it a little heat.
  • Step 4
I like to serve this with a crusty bread.
