This is a soup women use to make on the day they were baking bread.

Ingredients

    beef or mutton, trimmed, cut into small pieces
  • 2
    onions, sliced
  • 4
    carrots, chunked
  • 4
    parsnips, quartered
  • 6
    potatoes, cut up
  • 6
    tomatoes, peeled, quartered
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 1 large
    beet, scraped, cut up (opt)
  • 3 qt
    water

How to Make Baked Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. Add ingredients into an earthen vessel and set in the oven while the bread is baking.
  2. If the bread is done before the dinner hour, keep the soup in the oven till ready to serve.
