One of the things I miss most since moving to Florida is a good cup of wonton soup. This recipe really works and is easy.

  • 6 c
    chicken stock
  • 1 1/2 c
    fresh spinach stemmed and torn
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 c
    thinly sliced cooked pork, optional
  • 1/2` c
    diagonally sliced green onions
  • 1 Tbsp
    dark sesame oil
  • 1 pkg
    12 ounces, trader joe's frozen chicken and cilantro wontons, or make your own.

How to Make Wonton Soup


  1. Combine stock and soy sauce in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and add wontons. Simmer 4 minutes, or until cooked through.
  2. Stir in spinach, cooked pork if desired, and green onions.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the sesame oil. Serve hot.
