Ingredients For string bean and linguica soup

  • 1 sm
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2
    green pepper, diced
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter or margarine
  • 2
    potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 lb
    linguica, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb
    string beans, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground allspice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can
    8 oz. tomato sauce

How To Make string bean and linguica soup

  • Although I didn't have any tomato sauce called for, it was delicious!

    Saute onion and green pepper in butter until onions are tender. Place onion and pepper in pot with potatoes, linguica and beans. Add enough water to cover. Add allspice,salt and pepper. Stir in tomato sauce. Cover and simmer until beans are tender, about 1 hour.
