  • 2 c
    green split peas
  • 1 stalk(s)
    celery coarsely chopped
  • 1 large
    carrot chopped
  • 1 small
    onion chopped
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground thyme
  • 1 pinch
    cayenee pepper
  • 1
    ground bay leaf
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make split pea soup


  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot.Bring to a boil and boil for twenty minutes.Turn down heat and simmer until peas are tender(about another 10-15 minutes.)Strain through a fine mesh sieve and reheat to boiling point.It is now ready to serve.
