Ingredients

  • 3/4 pound chicken thigh cut in bite sized pieces
  • 2 cups cut okra
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  • 1/2 pound andouille sausage sliced
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can diced tomato undrained
  • 1 cup frozen shrimp
  • 1 1/2 cups uncook white rice
  • 3 cups chicken broth

How To Make slow cooker gumbo

  • Step 1
    in frying pan combine flour and oil. cook stirring constantly on med heat 5 min reduce to low continue cooking and stirring 8-10 min until turns light red brown. add to slow cooker
  • Step 2
    add all ingredients except shrimp, rice, and broth. cook low 8-9 hours
  • Step 3
    add shrimp cook anouther 20 mins
  • Step 4
    cook rice in broth
  • Step 5
    serve gumbo over rice
