Ingredients
- 2 quarts water
- 3 tablespoons chicken base
- 1 pound potatoes cubed 1/2 inch thick
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup sliced carrots
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- to taste - salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
- few drops - yellow food coloring
- DUMPLINGS
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup water
How To Make slippery dumpling soup

Step 1In a soup pot add 2 quarts water, chicken base, potatoes, celery, onions, salt and pepper

Step 2Cook for 1/2 hour.

Step 3Remove veggies from stock and set aside.

Step 4Sift flour in a mixing bowl

Step 5Add salt, and cut in shortening
-
Step 6Add water small amounts at a time until dough is soft yet not too sticky

Step 7Roll out wafer thin.

Step 8Cut into squares

Step 9Drop into boiling soup broth. Cook for 15 minutes DO NOT COVER POT.

Step 10Add veggies back to stock I like to add a few drops of yellow food coloring to make the soup more appealing
