I had an onion soup at a Japanese place back in "78"...which is funny because at that time I hated onions. I liked this soup a lot and have been craving it for a while...I think I got the recipe very close...I made it night before last and it was very good. I hope you like it too.

Ingredients

1 bunch
green onions
1 medium
white onion
2 box
48oz. chicken broth
1 jar(s)
minced garlic

How to Make Plain old onion soup...

Step-by-Step

  • 1In small stock pot...pour in 2 boxes of chicken broth.
    Put on low heat...
  • 2Slice white onion very very thin. Add to broth.
  • 3Slice green onions maybe 1/4" down to white root...but use most. Add to broth.
  • 4Add maybe 1 heaping table spoon of garlic, salt and pepper to taste...simmer on low heat stirring occasionally for at least 30 mins.
