Ingredients

  • 1/2 - medium cabbage
  • 5 - onions, sliced
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 6 - potatoes, diced
  • 28 ounces tomatoes
  • - water, 3 times the normal amount used to cook potatoes

How To Make my cabbage soup

  • Step 1
    In a large pot, fry onion and cabbage in butter slowly until tender and brown about 25 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Boil potatoes until cooked.
  • Step 3
    Add tomatoes and fried onion and cabbage.
  • Step 4
    Season to taste.
  • Step 5
    Simmer 30 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Sausage can be browned with the vegetables and added as desired.
