    mixed beans
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 12 c
  • 1
    ham hock
  • 2 c
  • 28 oz
    italian tomatoes
  • 2 c
    diced celery
  • 1
    green pepper, diced
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 lb
  • 4
    boned and skinned chicken breasts

How to Make Minnesota Heartland Soup


  1. Rinse beans and put with water, salt, hock and bouquet in stockpot. Bring to boil, reduce and simmer, covered, 3-4 hours. Chop and add all vegetables to pot, return to boil. Simmer covered 1 1/2 hours. Add sausage and chicken, simmer 40 min uncovered. Remove bouquet and serve.
