    venison , cubed
  • 4 c
    water or beef broth
  • 6 oz can(s)
    tomato paste
  • 6
    carrots, cut into chunks
  • 2
    onions, cut into chunks
  • 2 c
    chopped celery
  • ·
    oregano to taste
  • ·
    garlic powder to taste
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 c

How to Make Hunter's Stew


  1. In a large, heavy skillet, brown venison in oil until caramelized. Add water or broth and tomato paste. Simmer for 2 hours.
  2. Add carrots, onions, celery, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper, cook for about 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Thicken with flour and water to desired consistency.
  3. Serve over biscuits, mashed potatoes, or noodles.
