A family favorite in my home for years. My three sons think this is wonderful. Who would of knew a few ingredients and PRESTO, a wonderful soup. Taste better the next day when all the flavors have melded together.

Ingredients

  • 8 large potatoes (peeled/cubed)
  • 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 cans cream of tomato soup
  • 16 - hot dogs (sliced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4-6 dashes tabasco sauce (optional)
  • 1 package beef stew mix
  • 1 - beef/chicken bouillon
  • 2 tablespoons butter

How To Make hot doggity dog soup

  • Step 1
Saute onion in butter, until tender.
  • Step 2
In a large saucepan over medium high heat, combine the potatoes, onion, seasonings, and water and boil for 15 minutes, or until tender.
  • Step 3
Add the tomato soup and the hot dogs and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the hot dogs are heated through.
  • Step 4
Believe it or not this recipe does not need much seasoning. The hot dogs give it a unique taste.
  • Step 5
Note: garlic/onion powder, garlic/onion salt, red pepper or any of you favorite seasonings can replace the beef stew seasoning.
