This is another recipe I added to and changed a dozen times but finally settled on this.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh tomatoes ( diced)
  • 1 medium carrot (shredded)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 stalks celery (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (diced)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • TOPPING (OPTIONAL)
  • - seasoned bread cubes
  • - shredded cheddar cheese

How To Make homemade tomato soup( by linda)

  • Step 1
    Put the first 10 ingredients in large soup pot, cook on low till tomatoes are cooked down and the veggies are tender.
  • Step 2
    Transfer to blender, being very careful blend till smooth.
  • Step 3
    Pour back into soup pot add soda stir well then add chicken broth, and milk and heat.
  • Step 4
    When hot add the sugar and heat about 5 minutes longer till sugar is dissolved.
  • Step 5
    Add toppings and serve, Enjoy.
